Wired (via The Hollywood Reporter) notes that Alex Tse, the screen writer who co-adapted Watchmen for the cinema (which isn’t necessarily a recommendation), has been tapped by Brad Pitt’s Plan B production company to script acclaimed comics creator Paul Pope‘s Battling Boy for the big screen (the graphic novel of the mountain boy who fights a swarm of mutants is due from First Second next year). In the meantime Tse is working on adapting the classic science fiction short story collection The Illustrated Man by the great Ray Bradbury; I have a deep fondness for that collection, it was the first Bradbury I ever read (at the tender age of 10 or 11, I think), so I’m hoping that turns out better than Watchmen did.
