Or Bond is back ….

I love Philip Bond’s artwork. Ever since first seeing it in Wired World in the old Deadline magazine in the late 80s, early 90s. And he’s the artist on the wonderful Kill Your Boyfriend. But recently, there’s been rather a lack of his work and he’s become a bit of a house hubbie, making some great DC covers in his spare time. I think it’s a real loss to comics.

But no more. DC just announced a new comic from DC/Wildstorm called Red Herring, co-created by David Tischman and Bond. CBR have an interview with Tischman where he talks about Red Herring as a mix of The Daily Show and The X-Files:

There are government agents and con men and corporate big wigs and a young woman sleeping with her boss. “Red Herring” is how all of those disparate elements come together – a conspiracy book that looks at a complex series of events and motivations with arms crossed and a firm “WTF” expression on our face. That covers the “X-Files” part.

“The Daily Show” part comes from the tone of the book, and the unlikely partnership of our main characters, a conspiracy-obsessed man named Red Herring, and his partner, a shopaholic woman with bad taste in men named MacGuffin.

One to look out for, Red Herring starts later this year.
