Boogicise with Monsters

With the Dreamworks animated movie Monsters Vs Aliens due for release this spring (Empire recently had a good feature on it, I rather like the 50s-style B movie-like the concept of it) sites and other media have begun to appear for it. As with the online campaign for the Watchmen this includes ‘real’ sites such as Top Secret Conspiracy, dedicated to proving that its all a government cover up, its real science, not science fiction and Pacific Monster Island, which is presented again as a ‘factual’ site using some documents grabbed via the Freedom of Information Act and other sources to explore the ‘truth’ behind the island of monsters.

Of the two supporting sites I quite liked that Monster Island one, especially the grainy, creased photos (like the one above), but for me the Conspiracy site and videos were a bit on the annoying side to be honest. Must say I’m looking forward to the movie though and its cool to see this kind of more interesting, lateral approach to sites to promote some movies instead of the usual here’s the official site, some standard pics, quick clip, that’s it.

Saw MvA at a preview screening a week or so back. It isn’t quite The Incredibles, but it’ll definitely do until Brad Bird gets over his annoying integrity
