John over on Down The Tubes has a story on the Bookseller’s Century list – 100 of the most influential people in books today; authors, publishers, journos, bloggers and agents. Of particular interest to us is the inclusion of David Fickling, publisher of David Fickling Books and the recently deceased DFC comic (which always seems weird written down seeing as it’s the David Fickling Comic comic – but never mind).
Fickling has said that the DFC will return at some point in the future and we all wish him well in that. It certainly introduced us to many great cartoonists that have become regulars here on the FPI blog. His inclusion on the Century list is justified and bodes well for the continuing success of comics at mainstream publishers.
The Century list is available online here.

Hey, where is David Fickling in that? I can’t seem to find him, although Philip Pullman’s listed.
