Awards, Film, TV and radio

The Producer’s Guild of America announced their nominations shortlist this week, with a couple of genre entries featuring, with the producers of The Dark Knight and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button both getting noms in the Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures category (try saying that quickly three times after you’ve had a couple). The producers for Wall-E, Kung Fu Panda and Bolt (which is finally about to get its UK release – don’t you hate seeing movies coming up on umpteen awards lists when we haven’t even had a chance to see them here?) all feature in Animated Theatrical category. Lost and 24 receive nods in the Television Drama category. The awards, which are seen as a good indicator of likely Oscar winners, are announced in the Hollywood Palladium on January 24th; the full list can be found on The Hollywood Reporter.
