Date set for first Tintin movie

After some recent less than impressive Tintin related stories (the threatened legal action against fan clubs on the Continent, the ill conceived ‘press’ launch for the new museum where reporters were forbidden from taking pictures of filming for their reports) its nice to see something more positive on the Boy Reporter front – the SF Crowsnest reports that Paramount and Sony have announced that the first in the Spielberg/Jackson motion capture movies, The Adventures of Tintin: the Secret of the Unicorn, has a release date set of December 23rd, 2011.Yeah, I know, its a good while off yet, but its something to look forward to.

(Jamie Bell and Andy Serkis in their new Team GB form fitting suits practising for the next Olympics… Well, okay, its their motion capture suits – which Andy must be used to by now – with Spielberg talking to them during production of the movie, pic, as you can doubtless guess, via Empire, which boasted no less a guest editor than Spielberg himself for their recent 20th anniversary issue)
