Film, TV and radio

Radio 1 Newsbeat has a brief Q&A with David Tennant, who reveals that when he read the script containing his final scene as the Doctor he was quite emotional: “I might have had a little cry. They were brilliant scripts and very moving. It was quite a big deal really. I sort of turned the phone off and made sure I could read it straight through without too much interruption.” Turning to the Planet of the Dead special (which from the trailer seems to have some hints of Pitch Black, or was that just me?) he commented that “It starts with Michelle Ryan in a catsuit stealing something important.” OKay, that’s me really hooked now, although obviously I only approve of Ms Ryan being in a form-fitting catsuit if it is justified by the script and not just for our titillation. Ahem. Both Russell T and Tennant have remarked that the following three Doctor Who specials will likely get darker and darker, leading to the end of Tennant’s Doctor, so this Saturday’s episode represents a last chance for a bit of a romp.
