The BBC’s Doctor Who site has posted up the first brief clip from the upcoming Dreamland, a six-part animated Doctor Who tale which features the voice of David Tennant. The show will appear on BBC digital (by the magic of – what else – the Red Button) and via the official Who site later this year; the 45 minute animated tale is penned by Phil Ford (who has contributed to Who, Torchwood and the Sarah Jane Adventures) and sees the Doctor in ‘Dreamland’ – the US military’s Area 51, beloved of conspiracy fans as the home of all sorts of supposed secret alien technology reverse engineered from downed UFOs. Its hard to tell from a couple of minutes worth of footage (produced by Brighton-based Littleloud who also did the old-school beat-em up online free game to go with the Watchmen movie) but the character movements looked a bit ‘video gamey’ to me, but I’ll wait till I see more (and perhaps that’s what they were going for).
