This weekend sees the opening of the touring Doctor Who exhibition in Glasgow’s superb Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum (which Denise Mina used as a location during her run on Hellblazer), with costumes, props and more from the revived series going on show from this Saturday through to January 2010, with the Scottish media reporting this morning that the opening weekend is completely sold out in advance, a mark of just how popular the return of the show has been that it can command sold out audiences even when its off the air.

Also on the Who event news theme the BBC site reports from the Celtic Media Festival in Caernarfon which included a special Doctor Who panel, although sadly Russell T Davies had to cancel his appearance at the Festival due to filming commitments on the current brace of specials (including, apparently, the two-parter which will see David Tennant’s Doctor regenerate into Matt Smith); good news for those of us who couldn’t be there, the Beeb site mentions that the event was recorded and will be go out on BBC Radio 7 tomorrow night at midnight and then be made available as a podcast on the official Who site.
