I’ve always thought of Elfquest as a rather pioneering series in many ways. It’s certainly in that small group of major titles in the 70s/80s that formed a transition period between the alternative comix of the 60s/70s and the major independent comic successes of the 90s. I imagine people like Terry Moore, Jeff Smithand many others saw it and realised that there was a way for them to get their work in front of people that didn’t involve Marvel or DC. And that alone is a reason to celebrate the success of Wendy and Richard Pini’s creation.
So it’s good to see that Wendy and Richard Pini have an extensive Elfquest.com website with every single Elfquest tale available online at Digital EQ (over 6500 pages in all). It’s a massive and important body of work.
