SciFiCool has good news for fans of the brilliant (and much missed) cult show Farscape: series creator Rockne O’Bannon will be at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month, along with two of the series’ stars (and long-running candidates in SFX mag’s annual ’sexiest people in SF’ poll) Ben ‘tight leather pants’ Browder and the delectable Claudia Black. The trio will be in town to promote a forthcoming mega DVD box set which will include all the seasons of Farscape, being released in November to mark the show’s tenth anniversary. Frell, it can’t really be ten years since Farscape first graced our screens, can it?

I’ve still got huge affection for the show, it was a breath of fresh air in the genre, deftly mixing comedy with tragedy and drama, some fabulous alien creatures and a brilliant chemistry between all of the lead actors; even when it delved into SF cliche territory (such as body swapping between characters) it always added its own spin to it. In other good news for ‘Scapers, Boom! Studios has announced a second hardback volume collecting the new Farscape stories in comics form, written by O’Bannon himself, due to hit the shelves this autumn.
