Iron Man movie duo Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr are teaming up for another cinematic outing, the enticingly titled Cowboys and Aliens. That’s a title that practically sells itself to you with a big smile, the idea of cowboys and Native Americans fighting aliens. I do hope they have a classic Western shoot-out with a quick-on-the-draw cowpoke with his trusty six-gun versus alien with raygun – draw, you no-good, cattle-rustlin’ alien varmint!!! This sounds like one of those projects that you just take an instant liking to (well, I do anyway). Joining Favreau and Downey Jr (who let’s be honest, after the brilliant Iron Man, we will always want to watch now) is Lost’s Damon Lindelof, who also penned the Ultimate Wolverine Vs Hulk tale, so its a good pedigree all round; this is one I reckon we’re going to be watching out for. The film is expected sometime in 2011. (via the BBC)

What you don’t mention it is based on a graphic novel (by Fred Van Lente of Marvel Zombies 3 and 4) the first chapter of which can be read online, as can the sequel webcomic. Details at:
