Imagine you’re ten years old; it’s the 70s, there’s no web, no mobile phones, no on demand cable services and even the ZX-81 is a few years away. Then this brand-new science fiction comic called 2000 AD (how futuristic that sounded!) appears and amid the thrill-powered tales contained inside are laser-gun totin’ cowboys from the future, sent back in time to harvest meat and fighting huge dinosaurs. Seriously – hungry dinosaurs and future cowboys fighting, how perfect was that for a ten-year old boy? Pat Mills explains the real reason why the dinosaurs became extinct in Flesh! Like a whole generation now of a certain age my exposure to the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic as a boy has left an indelible mark on my comics history and I’m feeling a huge nostalgia rush looking at this new collection from Rebellion…

    I love the fact that the readers are clearly meant to be on the dinosaurs’ side.

    ‘The seventh day! The day you’ve been waiting for…The day of the dinosaurs’ revenge.’

    And check that dialogue:

    ‘I…I…choke!’
