From Our Continental Correspondent – Christophe Blain moves Thomas Dutronc

Thomas Dutronc not only has a remarkable pedigree (his parents are French singers Francoise Hardy and Jacques Dutronc), but also impeccable taste.  Case in point: he asked Christophe Blain (well known for his work on Lewis Trondheim’s Donjon, but also for his own series Gus, the third book of which is part of the official selection at Angouleme 2009) for an animated video for his song, Comme un Manouche Sans Guitare (Like a gyspy Without A Guitar):

It’s a wonderful piece of music, and something of beauty for these dark times.

Incidentally, animation work on this video was provided by the French Normaal Studios, who also been asked by French broadcaster France 3, and publisher Marsu to create an animated series based on the adventures of André Franquin’s Gaston Lagaffe; you can read more on that (in French) at BoDoï.
