BoDoï’s Benjamin Roure reports (link in French) that Lewis Trondheim, one of the big names in French comics, is preparing to do a daily strip of six panels which will be exclusively available for reading on a mobile phone. For this project, which will run for a year, Trondheim will work with Ave!Comics, a French startup specialising in adapting comics for digital mobile use. He made this announcement during an interview for Swiss television (the video is in French).
Trondheim is no stranger to experimenting with different forms of delivery. His current autobiographical series, Les Petits Riens (published in English as Little Nothings by NBM) was originally envisioned as a regular strip on his own blog, and while he was still active at L’association, Trondheim tried out many different formats for his stories.

The comics will feature a little cat, which has been trapped in an appartment, and has to deal with a strange environment (a bit like he did with his silent mange, The Fly, published in the early nineties). “It will be partly funny, and partly cruel”, Trondheim tells in the inteview.
So far, no information has been given on when the strip will actually be launched, and what, if any, will be the price.
