Excelent post, but is there some more cameos, like "Le petit Albert (first image) of Chalard, or the girl scout (the last image), one of the protagonists of "Le pratrouille des libelules" of Marc Hardy (from Liège) both characters, from comic books about these times.

The merit isn't mine, the dBD mag did an article on the album where they analysed that picture in detail.

There is no less than FIFTEEN references to other characters, situations and places on that image alone!

Eat your heart out, Alex Ross!

Best,
Hunter (Pedro Bouça)

More surprising, on the second image, the guy smoking behind the
priest?

That's Yves Chaland himself!

And look who is picking Hergé's pocket!

Best,
Hunter (Pedro Bouça)

Your best bet for British publication is Cinebooks -- Terry Hooper was raving about them over on ComicBitsOnline a few days ago. It's insane, isn't it, how this gorgeous work doesn't have a UK presence. Sadly, so many publishers have enthusiastically tried and failed to convince the British comics audience to widen their horizons and this dissuades new attempts, even though I'd argue there may be a larger market these days than there was back in the 1980s and 1990s when Titan and Marvel UK tried to publish some terrific European material as GNs or reprint strips in comics.

Brilliant, thanks for sharing this. Will I even ask if you think this would be published in English?
