Rumours have been rife for some time that following the feature-length specials cult animated show Futurama would finally return for a proper series several years after it was axed by Fox. Well, it appears the rumours have now been confirmed – the BBC reports that Comedy Central has commissioned 26 episodes to be screened at some point in 2010. “We’re thrilled Futurama is coming back. We now have only 25,766 episodes to make before we catch up with Bender and Fry in the year 3000,” commented creator Matt Groening. Yay!!
