Gail Simone at FPI Dublin

Comics, especially the mainstream superhero variety, have often been accused of being part of a boy’s club. Gail Simone, who has frequently commented on the portrayal of female characters in the medium, has carved herself a distinctive place not only as a female writer but as one of the big names that draws readers in, having written Superman for Action Comics, Deadpool for Marvel, Gen 13, Legion and many more, with her run on the female superhero team Birds of Prey and now Wonder Woman firmly establishing her credentials as a major comics scribe for the largest publishers. Gail will be appearing at the Forbidden Planet store in Dublin (5-6 Crampton Quay, Dublin 2, phone: 0035 3167 10688) on Friday March 27th from 6 to 7pm, so take advantage of this chance to come and meet a writer who’s on first name terms with Diana Prince.

My understanding is the signing is for two hours and begins at
5:00 pm. Folks might want to double check, though!

The sign in the shop says from 6pm to 7pm, but Gail (I can call you Gail, right?) if you say 5pm I’ll be there for 5pm :)

Not that I’ll have much for signing. Virtually all of my comics are back home on the other side of the country, and I didn’t find out about this until Sunday evening, just after I came back from a trip home!! Just my luck…
