Thanks to Lew Stringer for pointing this out – The Beano reached the momentous issue 3500 this week. 71 years, every week with even world wars only managing to turn it into a fortnightly comic.That makes it the only regular weekly series to get to this milestone.

Seems there’s some fresh life in the old Beano after all, with the launch of Dennis and Gnasher cartoon series on CBBC too, hopefully this will all ensure its long future.
