I’m sure we’ve all indulged in little daydreams from time to time, little idle thoughts as we walk around town, wait at the grocery store or post office, of something exciting happening and ourselves stepping in heroically to bravely sort everything out. Artist Chris Weston has – except his musings actually came true! Waiting in a bank queue he found himself observing another customer quite closely with that attention to detail good artists develop. When the aforementioned man turned out to be a bank robber Chris used his observations to quickly draw a likeness of the man before excitedly taking it to his local police station where it transpired that the cops had already picked up a suspect and that he was a dead ringer for the sketch Chris had provided. From this day forth he shall be known in our comics community as Crimebusting Chris. Who needs all that CCTV, eh? We’re all worried about the growth of the surveillance society (especially in the UK), perhaps instead of ever more CCTV cameras watching us we could provide work for our artists, station them at sensitive points with pencil and pad.
