ICV2 reports that IDW has secured the rights to develop a hundred of famed writer Robert Bloch‘s tales for comics. Bloch wrote an enormous amount of short stories over his career, mostly in the genres of crime, science fiction and horror, although to many he will always be best known for penning Psycho. Influenced by Lovecraft (indeed he and Lovecraft became friends and the famed author encouraged the young Bloch), he picked up a number of awards across a long writing career and in turn influenced many later writers. IDW also have a new version of his novel Lori, with illustrations by the excellent Ben Templesmith, due this autumn; the first comics in the new series are expected in early 2010 under the title The Robert Bloch Collection.
