Boing Boing reports that J Michael Straczynski, creator of the epic Babylon 5 series and now a highly respected scribe of comics and acclaimed films, will be part of a double header event with media scholar Henry Jenkins in the incredibly prestigious environs of MIT on May 22nd. JMS at MIT, I like the sound of that; I wonder how many comics/SF writers have spoken at MIT…

It was awesome. He spoke about the need for failure and his life (HA!) and then there was a dialog with the host followed by an open forum Q and A with the audience, the whole thing lasted for just under 4 hours and was well worth it. Look forward to his screenplays for the new Forbidden Planet, World War Z, and… Lensman. All of which look like they are going into production. Oh yes and the lecture should be available on DVD in the near future through i believe New England Comics
