The awards ceremony on the last night of the Edinburgh International Film Festival on Sunday saw Indy low budget science fiction flick Moon win the coveted Michael Powell award for Best New British Feature Film, while the gorgeous Irish animated film The Secret of Kells won the Standard Life Audience (voted for by the actual audiences as they leave screenings), I think the first time the award has been scooped by an independent animated film. I posted a review of Moon here a few days ago and I’ll have a review of The Secret of Kells for you shortly.
