Will ace artist Laura Howell be performing burlesque clothes-shedding routines? (we blame that Molly Crabapple’s influence!). No, its far too chilly. I refer to strip in the comics sense, I was just incapable of letting a potential double entendre go past. Laura, a regular in the Beano, DFC and Toxic among others, is about to embark on another daily cartoon strip marathon – she’s warming up now, doing her stretches and sharpening her nibs (and ingesting vast amounts of caffeine no doubt) in preparation for her Strip-a-Day Spectacular which will see a different cartoon posted every day throughout February, so that’s twenty-eight strips to look forward to, assuming Laura doesn’t explode before the end. Regular blog readers will remember Laura’s previous month-long cartooning marathon which showcased not only some very amusing strips (brightening up the long, dark winter months) but also showcased her versatility as an artist, riffing on different subjects and varying styles throughout the run (there were some lovely little gems there).
