Morph gets a special makeover for his 30th anniversary photoshoot for Esquire magazine; I especially like the inclusion of the classic old Rolle camera in the mise-en-scene, a nod to tradition and the old, hand-crafted method of animation originally used to bring Moprh to life. According to the article model makers spent three weeks crafting the tiny designer togs he wears for the photo set. I see from the BBC that the funeral of Tony Hart, whose shows Morph first appeared on (being created by the wonderful Aardman Animations, now famous for Wallace and Gromit among other works), took place yesterday and that the mourners were encouraged to make us of a canvas to leave their own, individual little artistic tributes, a lovely touch that made me smile.
