The Hollywood Reporter notes that a third Tomb Raider movie may be in the offing, although fans of the mighty-chested Lara Croft shouldn’t get too excited just yet as it is at the earliest stage of possible development – the film rights which had been with Paramount for the first two films have now gone to Time Warner, who own a stake in Lara’s software company home, Eidos and they are interested in drafting a possible script which would take the story back to explore Lara’s origins. Its thought unlikely that Angelina Jolie would be playing the role for the third time though, which will disappoint many.

The Beeb reports that the Narnia franchise will now continue in film form – Disney bankrolled the first two adaptations of the C.S. Lewis books but have now bowed out over “budgetary considerations and other logistics.” Fox has picked up the ball and said it will produce The Voyage of the Dawn Treader for 2010. I must admit to not being overwhelmed by the first two films, but then I was never overly fond of the original books.

Variety has news that Matrix producer Joel Silver and Warners are giving Kung Fu Panda co-director John Stevenson his live action debut, helming a new version of cult animated series He-Man. I’m guessing here that it is likely to be at least slightly better than the Dolph Lungdren version from the 80s…
