The latest strip to join the impressive roster of short comics stories on SmithMag’s damned fine Next Door Neighbor series (edited by Dean Haspiel) is Dorm Stalker, illustrated by Tom Forget and penned by Anthony Lappé who wrote my favourite graphic novel of 2007, Shooting War (working with artist Dan Goldman). Its a nice, tight little short tale delivering a healthy dose of paranoia and fear in a short space; I’m also quite taken with the opening, which manages in a confined space to evoke the feel of a very different New York City (and the movies set there in the 70s and 80s), before it was cleaned up a bit.
