At the end of March the Phoenix Convention took place in Dublin’s fair city with science fiction, fantasy and comics creators and fans enjoying a damned fine weekend. Pádraig Ó Méalóid, as is traditional for P-Con, was on hand (rumour has it that guests carry small, hand-carved Pádraig figures with them for good luck throughout the convention) and as part of the proceedings he conducted a live interview with the excellent Paul Cornell, scribe of some of the best Doctor Who episodes, writer of SF&F novels and now also of comics. Cheryl Morgan videoed the entire interview between Paul and Pádraig (taking in Doctor Who, adapting Iain M Banks for the radio, a new BBC project, Stan Lee, Alan Moore, Captain Britain, meeting Joss Whedon and much more – its geektastic territory) and has laboriously uploaded the entire thing in eight segments to YouTube (having uploaded several videos there myself I know that’s quite time consuming, so thank you, Cheryl) and Cheryl, Paul and Pádraig have all very kindly given us permission to repost those videos here to share with you (thank you all very much, guys, much appreciated), so please enjoy it:

And for readers in London you should know that Paul will be appearing at the Sci-Fi London Film Festival on the 2nd of May at 2.30pm with China Mieville and Bryan Talbot discussing comics.
Update: Alex Fitch tells me that China has had to pull out of this event, but Daniel Merlin Goodbrey will now be stepping into the discussion instead.
