Penguin Classics have been putting out a collection of books with some beautifully designed and drawn covers from many, many great artists. Art director Paul Buckley has collected together quite a few of them over on his Flickrstream. Some wonderful stuff there, but here’s a few to look at on a quiet Sunday morning:

Those are utterly fantastic – makes me want to go buy them all. I love the way they show the book with spread covers and flaps – and how someone like Millionaire uses that space for a total design. Lovely, lovely. Blank Slate artists need to be doing this.
