I noticed that the mighty Russell T Davies was going to be on BBC Breakfast this morning, but sadly not until well after I had gone off to my Blogcave; fortunately the Beeb has posted the segment up already as a video clip on their website, with Russell talking about this weekend’s Easter Special (”Planet of the Dead”), which boasts the delectable Michelle ‘Bionic Woman’ Ryan as the guest companion. The special has been shot pretty close to the wire – Russell apologises to viewers for not bringing along an exclusive clip to show with his interview but he explains they only finished editing it at 11.30 the evening before! This special marks the beginning of the four special episodes which will lead to the end of the David Tennant era (how much will we miss him?) and his regeneration into Matt Smith in the final specials which will be a two-parter later in the year. Mmmm, Doctor Who special and the return of Red Dwarf to our screens – who care if this Easter holiday weekend is foul weather, Brit TV SF fans are well covered!
Also on the Who special front the Beeb site has another short video, this time with Michelle Ryan talking about her role as the jewel thief Lady Christina de Souza and just what it was like to star in such a well loved show and what David Tennant was like to work with.
