Schmurgen Con

Schmurgen Jonerhaff, having missed out on UK Web & Mini Comics Thing this coming weekend (see Richard’s post), has decided to have his own mini-con, Schmurgen Con, with guests such as Oli Smith, Sean Azzopardi and others. Well, I assume its them – you see Schmurgen is a Norwegian artist creating ‘uncompromising comics’ and his blog is replete not only with spelling errors but misspelled names too (including mine and Sean’s and Oli’s). Actually it may be quite clever – is this the bad spelling of someone who has English as a second (or maybe fourth) language? Or is it a deliberate parody of that kind of mangled English? I can’t actually tell, although all the wrong names are making me incline to the parody idea, as they are all amusingly spelled and he’d have easy access to their correct names via their blogs and emails, so I’m suspecting its all deliberate. Anyway, masked wrestling uncompromising cartoonist Schurgen (no compromise, even in the face of bad English) and friends will be at the New Globe pub in London’s Mile End on Saturday 28th March; the Modern Monstrosity boys present an interview with Schmurgen over on their blog.
