Sean Bean has landed the role of Lord Eddard in HBO’s upcoming adaptation of bestselling fantasy author George RR Martin‘s A Game of Thrones, part of his incredibly popular (and often critically successful too) A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels. Sean is obviously no stranger to epic fantasy – as Hollywood Reporter notes he has just finished filming on Percy Jackson and the Olympians (adapted from Rick Riordan’s book) and, of course, he famously portrayed Boromir in Peter Jackson’s triumphant adaptation of Lord of the Rings.
