Lee Robson, who has a tale in the new Accent UK collection Western which comes out this summer, found a blast from the past (1980) in his old stack of 2000 AD progs – a Star Wars cover by the great Brian Bolland! I’d completely forgotten this – thanks for the unexpected nostalgia trip, Lee! And don’t you dig the computer game on the bottom corner shaped like an old Commodore Pet computer. Ah, if only those of us of a certain age still had some of those action figures they are offering up we’d be rich…

I remember Bolland also doing the UK ads for the action figure range, which also ran in 2000AD. The young me found it a bit galling, especially because Carmine Infantino was phoning it in something rotten over in the Marvel’s contemporaneous STAR WARS WEEKLY comic.
