Ahead of tonight’s Tinsel Town red carpet fest that is the Oscars the annual lampooning of the film industry that is the Golden Raspberries has taken place. Both the comics-based and SF&F genres have scored fairly often in the Razzies over the years (most notably Catwoman, although to her credit Halle Berry is one of the few to ever come in person and accept her ‘award’ for worst movie, most others aren’t such good sports), but this year we largely escaped as Paris Hilton and Mike Myers took most of the honours, although Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull won the combined category of Worst Prequel/Remake/Rip-off or Sequel (surely an increasingly competitive category?). And the less said about Uwe Boll the better, frankly…
