The Secret of Kells at Angoulême

You might recall the other week Cliodhna Lyons pointed us to the English language trailer for the Irish animated film The Secret of Kells which she was involved in (see here) and which looks lovely (ignore the horrid Voiceover Man they inflicted on the trailer, just enjoy the visuals from Kilkenny’s Cartoon Salon). There is a graphic novel of the film coming up this spring (a good chance for parents and teachers to interest younger readers in the astonishing Book of Kells and the history surrounding it, I would think) and the film is opening in France and Belgium this month, so there was an exhibition at the festival and Wim was good enough to take some pics for us to see. We love seeing good comics and animation work coming over from Europe, but its also nice to see work from the home islands making a splash on the Continent.
