Cartoon Brew’s Jerry Beck scanned a bunch of cartoons from 1970s Cracked magazine by John Severin looking at the generation gap and the way what’s hip and now can change so suddenly the once cutting edge person finds out they are out of the scene and, worst still, don’t understand the new youth culture that replaced their’s (something I find more and more the older I get some days). Despite being over three decades old its still pretty on the money and one of the best cartoon takes on losing your hip youth culture to age since the Simpsons episode where Homer joins a travelling rock festival to try and get back into hipdom.
