From the Architects Journal of all places, this is a top 10 run down of the wonderous, nightmarish and plain bizarre places comic book heroes and villains call home: Top 10 Comic Book Cities.
Running through some obvious ones: Gotham, Metropolis, Daredevil’s New York (actually it’s really Miller and Mazzecchelli’s New York featuring DD, but that’s nitpicking) and Dean Motter’s nightmarishly beautiful Radiant City from Mister X. But it’s also lovely to see the inclusion of some more interesting and unusual entries: Tintin’s Inca city, Chris Ware’s Chicago, Moebius’ city from The Long Tomorrow and Schuiten’s incredible Urbicand.
But #1? Was there ever any doubt: Mega City One.
