Always nice to have some wedding news on a weekend, if only that it gives my darling wife a nice excuse to go out and buy a new hat. But over at the Beat, Heidi has news of two marriages, one new and one rescued from the clutches of evil demons and the ever changing buck chasing desires of editors.
Archie Andrews, the world’s oldest teenager, cursed with forever having to choose between Betty & Veronica is finally thinking about tying the knot, and it seems he’s going for the brunette. Archie 600 is on sale in July. But I don’t think I’m making that wild a guess to say that the wedding may well be a long way off and there may well be twists and turns to come.

And over at Marvel Comics, or at least the Marvel Comics of the newspaper Spider-Man strip they’ve taken the first steps to righting the terrible wrong done to Peter Parker and many, many Spider-Man fans over the brutal erasing of the Peter Parker & Mary-Jane Watson marriage. It seems, in best Dallas style it was all just a dream and the marriage is back on thanks to the number of newspaper readers who wrote in to complain at the idiocy of the situation of the marriage having been magically erased from existence by Mephisto in a ham-fisted attempt to regain the free-wheeling sense of early Spider-Man stories.

Thanks to Heidi for those. As for her own forthcoming nuptials? Ms McDonald and the future Mr Beat will hopefully have a far simpler time of it.
