Artist Chu will be installing a piece of Watchmen inspired street art in the skatepark in London’s Southbank to mark the DVD release of Zack Snyder’s adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons’ seminal graphic novel; Chu’s website has some preparatory sketches you can check out (as well as some other very cool street art). From Chu”s blog it certainly sounds intriguing: “I was asked to make a 3D illusion of the chosen venue, and after much deliberation and conceptual work, some of which you can see below, the result will be visible on the 28th July. I’m going to make a little bit of it work with 3D glasses, but overall the piece will turn the wall into a scene from the movie.” (link via Michael Leader’s Wild Tyme blog)

Update: Barry at the Geek Syndicate has posted up about their competition winner who got to ‘meet and greet’ with none other than Dave Gibbons – the venue being the aforementioned skatepark where Chu was working hard to finish his installation piece this very day. Compo winner Den Patrick shared a view of this cool Rogue Trooper sketch Dave was kind enough to do for him:
