Comics and cartoons

Alan Moore’s latest spoken word piece, Unearthing has been released. I’d previously resigned myself to getting the gorgeous looking deluxe box set for Christmas, but found out tonight that it’s also available for download – for those of us too poor to spend the £50 required to order it direct from Lex Records.

Granted the download doesn’t have the gorgeous looking packaging, nor does it have Mitch Jenkins’ photography, nor liner notes. But between now and Christmas – it will do for me. Unearthing is available direct from Lex Records as a box set or from Amazon and iTunes as a digital download. Here’s a preview:

And here’s the press from Lex Records:

“Unearthing is an audio and visual project uniting legendary comic book writer Alan Moore, award-winning photographer Mitch Jenkins and a cast of high-caliber musicians. A bewitching story written and narrated by Moore set against an epic score from musicians including Adam Drucker& Andy Broder (aka Crook&Flail) Mike Patton, Stuart Braithwaite,Zach Hill, Justin Broadrick.”

“Unearthing will be released as a deluxe, limited edition box set on 5th July via Lex Records. The box set will come with both CD and heavyweight vinyl formats of the full 2-hour audio of Unearthing and separate EP of instrumental highlights from the score, a copy of Alan Moore’s original script and imagery by photographer and director Mitch Jenkins, who’s also collaborating with Moore on a photo illustrated version of the project.”

And whilst we’re on all things Moore, there’s an interview with Moore about Unearthing and Dodgem Logic at The Skinny. Full of everything you’d expect.
