Bradford Zine Fayre

Jen tells us that there’s an upcoming Zine Fayre in Bradford (‘zine fairs seem to becoming ever hotter right now) in the Impressions Gallery which sounds pretty cool: “we have space on the day for a large number of stalls. All stalls are free, so please book one early to avoid any tears at bedtime! We’ll be doing workshops and readings too, so please get in touch with ideas for that. There will be cheap grub for dinner provided by The Treehouse and 1in12 Peasants Collective, a chance to contribute to and peruse the incredible Northern Indymedia Online Zine Library, plus an extra special unveiling of a proper Arabic Printing Press up at the club for all to admire and have a go on. Lots of other exciting bits and bobs in the pipeline, culminating in a gig at the 1in12 for the evening. We’ll be kicking off the Fayre at Noon, going on till 5pm, breaking for food, then partying till the wee hours. The last Zine Fayre was a really wonderful do, as was our recent Anarchist Bookfair, and there is a real appetite for Zines up here at the moment, all that’s missing is you!

The event is scheduled for Sunday the 20th of June at the Impressions Gallery on Centenary Square, with evening shenanigans to follow at the 1 in 12 Club on Bradford’s Albion Street afterwards; check the sites or contact them at bradfordzines (at) hotmail dot co dot uk for more details or to take part.

Steven Tillotson and I are looking to attend. One of the websites doesn’t work and the other’s not much help so it’s best to get in touch at that hotmail address.

Nice to see more of this Oop North!
