Goofy meets Lynch

Its the cinematic collaboration we’ve all been waiting for: Disney’s Goofy working with master of the surreal, the auteur David Lynch. Apparently Goofy has been a huge admirer of Lynch’s work going right back to Eraserhead and Lynch has been keen to use the Hollywood veteran in one of his projects but has been holding out for just the right one. Okay, I made that bit up, but nonetheless this remix/mashup using segments of the Goofy Movie into a more disturbing (and much better) Lynchian experience. (linka via Cory at BoingBoing)

Which makes me think, what other famous character or movies would you like to see re-imagined by a completely different sort of director? I’m thinking how cool Star Wars by Sergio Leone would have been -- imagine the Greedo versus Han in the Cantian scene done in the style of Leone. There’s be none of that who drew first controversy because our anti-hero wouldn’t so much draw first as simply draw faster. And there would be about five Greedos, all more ugly than the first, with the camera dawdling over each in loving, slow detail as the scene took ten minutes longer to play out and ended in 2 seconds of sudden gunplay. With an Ennio Morricone soundtrack, of course.
