Stuck for something to do on Valentines Day? Or maybe you and significant other fancy something a little more unusual than a candle lit dinner? We Are Words + Pictures have the answer: Head down to Notting Hill Arts Club for two comics and music events

Part 1: 3-7pm – Drop In + Draw.
A mini-mini convention with group draw sessions, and tutorials. Artists present for sketches and advice include Jamie McKelvie, Adam Cadwell and Tom Humberstone. It’s open to all ages, £1 entry just to cover materials, under 12s get in free.

And then, for the evening……..

7:30 to late: Modern Romance. (with a lovely flyer by Julia Scheele)
“A night of sunshine pop and four-color mayhem, Notting Hill Arts Club will be filled with comic art and live illustration while the bands play on. Compered by very special guest Robin Ince (The Office, Mock The Week, Nevermind The Buzzcocks, Radio 4 regular), the acts include confetti-wielding electro-pop heroes House of Strange, Dogtanion – whose single ‘Heavy Talk’ was one of Drowned in Sound’s ‘Singles of 2009′ – and intergalactic folk hero Judas Zero.”

Entry – £5 per person (£4 concessions). The W+P artists will be hanging around to DJ until late into the night. Valentines Day, music, dancing and comics – who could ask for more?
