Comics and cartoons

Our resident blogger at Nostalgia & Comics returns, picking a couple of this weeks comics he’s especially looking forward to. Over to Michael……

Fantastic Four #581

By Jonathan Hickman and Neil Edwards

The first of a two-part story featuring the return of Nathaniel Richards. Follow us as he jumps through time back to the college years of Reed, Ben and Victor Von Doom and recruits them for an impossible mission in the future.”

This is it.  This is what I’ve been waiting for.  Finally we have another issue of Hickman’s Fantastic Four that isn’t a self contained story.  His run on the FF has been ridiculously good but the only problem is that this is his tenth issue on one of Marvel’s biggest books and yet this is only his second proper story arc.  The first; the “Solve Everything” arc was absolutely excellent.  Hopefully this return of Nathaniel Richards storyline will really set Hickman on his way on this book.

Wolverine Weapon X  #15

by Jason Aaron, Ron Garney

“It’s the action-packed conclusion to “Tomorrow Dies Today”…and at the end of it only one Deathlok shall remain. As Logan and the greatest heroes of the Marvel U unite to confront him, the question is raised: is he friend or foe? Or maybe even both?”

Breaking the rules again with the ones to watch? Absolutely.  I know that the ones to watch are supposed to be jumping on points or new books and yet this is the final issue in a story arc and this book is actually drawing to an end.

But as this has been the best Wolverine book on the shelf for a while and the next Wolverine#1 will be written by Aaron and will probably be linked to the end of this series. With some of the best artwork ever done by Ron Garney I suggest you buy this and any back issues you can lay your hands on.
