Comics and cartoons

Howard Hardiman’s The Lengths is a dark and emotional 8-issue series looking at the world of male prostitution through the journey of one young man.

For a perfect description of the series here’s Hardiman’s back page blurb to set the scene:

We reviewed Issue 1 back in January and have recently reviewed issue 2. It’s certainly a challenging and highly emotional series, but like I said in the latest review:

“What stays with you on completing the comic is a sense of having read something raw, powerful and very real. The Lengths will certainly not be for everyone, but for those that venture into this shadowy, twilight world of Eddie & Ford, there’s a good chance you’ll find a great comic experience awaits you.”

Howard’s very kindly sent over a preview of the next issue, and it’s a pleasure to be able to share them with you.

These first few pages show young art school dropout Eddie meeting his maybe boyfriend Dan, always fearful of the shadowy double life he’s leading being discovered. Personally I think Hardiman’s art here is the best of the series so far, with really solid storytelling, some neatly detailed body language and great backgrounds.

Very, very good stuff which should be which should be released in the first week of September and available from The Lengths webstore.
