Found the film a bit long, but it’s very watchable. Standard issue superhero stuff at its core, but the well-realised period aspect bolsters one’s endurance. Certainly prefer it to cos-play Thor.

Caught Arrietty, too. Disappointinly sober, but captivating, all the same. (Just imagine if ‘My Neighbour Totoro’ had stayed with the convalescing mother instead of following the kids.) (Actually, no, it’s much better than that – it’s just there’s a little too much anxiety amongst its characters, and the story lacks enough moments to counter-balance that.)
