Of course you do.
Weston was engaged in these for a long time, working on the Albert Hughes helmed film before it all went south on that project. Weston had previously storyboarded and worked with Hughes for The Book Of Eli. So the delicious thought of seeing Chris Weston’s storyboards of the classic Manga seemed to have passed us by. Yet now some guy called Horatio Pearltongueblower has gotten hold of them, and is posting them on Facebook. Yes, I know that’s a made up name. Yes, I imagine you’re thinking the same thing about it … but heaven’s above – stop thinking about the mechanics and start joining in with everyone thinking…. “WOW, that artwork looks bloody gorgeous”
Here’s a few, the rest, complete with storyboard examples, can be found on the links from Chris Weston’s Facebook, and of course, Chris Weston is completely and totally unconnected to this Pearltongueblower fella.
UPDATE Two hours later – 11:11pm – Weston posts the lot over at his blog, along with this text:
“Albert Hughes has released some of the storyboards I drew for his live-action adaptation of Katsuhiro Otomo’s classic graphic novel,”Akira”. Here’s a few of them; hopefully they reveal just how much love we had for the source material and how faithful we were going to be to it.“
