Comics and cartoons

Mike at Rebellion, home to the Galaxy’s Greatest Comic, tells us that the mighty Dreddfather himself, Chief Judge John Wagner, has been quick to praise the current new storyline developing in the pages of 2000 AD, calling it “a little bit of comics genius”.  I’ve been following it each week myself and I love the way that, in classic Dredd serial fashion, you can feel pieces being moved into position from small beginnings that you know will grow to shake the series further down the line – and the fact that it is cleverly crossing over to cause ripples and consequences in some of the other stories currently running in 2000 AD like the Simping Detective (I totally fell for the first collection of that series, wonderful stuff) and goold old Dirty Frank just makes it feel even better, more coherent. If you missed it Rebellion is offering readers the chance to check out Al Ewing and Henry Flint’s prologue to this current series, The Cold Deck, absolutely free online now as a PDF. You’d be drokking futsie to miss it.
