I think it was a bit ambitious, and maybe not super clear in that it may need re-reading a couple of times. It’s based on the premise that every fairground has a bunch of bloody art students spoiling it for everyone else.
I love Medway’s work, and am really looking forward to seeing his Playing Out released next year (preview here) – hopefully February.
But yes, he’s right here about the problems with it. First time I looked I couldn’t completely see it. Granted, I was knackered and merely skated over it, but once I realised I was struggling I went back and did it all over again, concentrating this time. And then it all made sense. Of course it did, and looks very, very nice indeed….

Thanks for posting this – funny to read it again, and it’s still not really working – either it’s trying too hard or is just not the right thing to attempt with comics. I’m learning, anyroad.
