Comics and cartoons

(the element Germanium makes an appearance in Doctor Solar, Man of the Atom #2 from 1962)

John P. Selegue and F. James Holler, professors of chemistry at Kentucky University are creating a Periodic Table of Comic books, with a periodic table where you can click on the various elements to see comic pages which reference the relevant element. As BoingBoing (whence comes the link) notes, at the moment it is heavily biased towards Golden and Silver Age material, but it appears to be a work in progress so no doubt more will be added in due course. BB also comments that the professors still have a number of elements – especially the lanthanides and actinides – to cover yet, so perhaps some of our more scientifically minded readers can send them some references and suggestions.
